Last week the Essig Museum hosted a special event for the final brunch meeting of the semester, in which undergraduates from labs at Cal presented on their research.
Dr. Heather Bruce was invited to give a Keynote presentation to kick off the meeting, with a talk entitled “Insect wings and a Grand Unified Theory of arthropod appendages”
Some of the work presented was part of Heather and Nipam’s recent biorXiv preprint which you can find here.
The talk was very well received and a great way to start off the meetings that morning, followed by several students and faculty asking questions about the evo-devo of arthropod appendage development. Great job Heather!
