Earlier this week Aaron hosted an Explorer Classroom with National Geographic to talk about some of his work using portable laboratory equipment in the field and butterfly coloration. The live presentation was broadcast to K-12 classrooms from all over the country and the students had great questions afterwards.

Thanks to all of the teachers for registering for the event and reaching out on Twitter after saying how much the students enjoyed hearing about jungles and butterflies! Doing fun outreach events like this is an important part of science communication, and it’s really a privilege to inspire some young minds!

Hi @AaronPomerantz! My @OakridgeKinder learners and I caught your @EBTSOYP w/ @NatGeoEducation today! We were surprised about the new species of #butterfly! We have butterflies in our room to help us learn. We have questions! @APSscience pic.twitter.com/hZ0piBxMfU
